Yaletown

Yaletown is a heritage warehouse district, revitalized since Expo 86 with shops, restaurants and high-rise condominiums; located on the edge of Downtown south of BC Place Stadium, close to the False Creek seawall. The neighbourhood is filled with young, urban professionals and families, as well as baby-boomer professionals.

Homes in this area are either recently renovated lofts, townhomes or high-rise apartments - most with views of False Creek.

Shopping

This neighbourhood has a range of boutiques and furnishing stores, as well as a wide selection of restaurants, brew pubs, and bars along Mainland, Hamilton and Homer. The downtown shopping as well as Chinatown is also close by.

Recreation

The neighbourhood's highlight is the False Creek Seawall, as well as indoor pursuits at BC Place Stadium, GM Place, The Plaza of Nations, and Science World as well as the city's various performance theatres. Downtown also has a selection of movie theatres and nightclubs along Granville Street.

Schools

This neighbourhood is served by Elsie Roy Elementary in the south corner of Yaletown, and the Downtown Public Library. Both Simon Fraser University and BCIT have downtown campuses.
